Print design, illustration, animation

Hi there, I’m Ameera! During my degree I have developed a great passion for design, with a special interest in the areas of print design, illustrative work and a growing enthusiasm for animation. Anything that involves designing for printed works and crafting or materiality beyond digital software is especially suited to my abilities and style. As I transition into the professional realm, I hope to immerse myself in new environments that can broaden my horizons and deepen my expertise across diverse creative disciplines. I am eager to embrace fresh challenges and opportunities that will allow me to continuously evolve, refine my skills, and push the boundaries of my artistic expression.

Oxford University Press book cover series

This project was to create a cohesive series of three book covers for the OUP ‘A Very Short Introduction’ series. The creative freedom of this brief was a challenge in itself; designing freely, yet still carefully considering the purpose of the project throughout the process. I chose ‘Dreaming’, ‘Magic’ and ‘Fairy Tale’. I took an illustrative approach to the covers and used the same waves and outlined style across all three. The titles are also hand-drawn variations of existing typefaces, made to look more whimsical.
